Cherry Blossoms and Butterflies

I had a lot of fun making this beautiful cake. This technique incorporates a sense of three dimension to the cake. The flowers, vines, and leaves are carved on the fondant.

This cake was for my sister and her wonderful husband. It was a Dark Chocolate Fudge cake filled with Raspberry Chocolate Ganache. I have never enjoyed making a cake as much as I enjoyed making this one. Congratulations! We love you guys...

Trick or Treat...

As creepy as it sounds, I loved making this cake. I got a crash course in anatomy while sculpting the dismembered and mutilated doctor with his chest cavity open. The nurses were especially fun to make; calmly standing by with their victims blood splattered on their clothes. And yes, that is a rat nibbling on the doctor's eyeball.
